Community Roots

Deeply Rooted in Colorado. Dedicated to Community Empowerment.

True leadership extends beyond the boardroom and into the communities we serve. As a first-generation college graduate, my work is grounded in a deep, enduring commitment to the Aurora and greater Denver metropolitan areas. We believe that empowering local families, advocating for equitable policy, and investing in our neighborhoods are the ultimate metrics of success.

A Family Legacy of Trust and Service

Commitment to the community is a Brackett family value. My wife, Gina Brackett, MBA, is a highly respected Real Estate Broker Associate and Mortgage Advisor (NMLS #2003372) serving the Aurora and Denver markets through United Mortgage Funding and Brokers Guild Homes. With over 13 years of expertise, a flawless 4.89-star track record of client reviews on platforms like Experience.com and Zillow, and a reputation for making complex financial decisions stress-free, she has helped countless local families secure their futures and put down roots in the neighborhoods we love.

Together, we are deeply invested in the growth, prosperity, and success of Colorado. When you partner with us, you are partnering with a family that puts community first.

Advocating for Statewide Excellence

Meaningful change requires a seat at the table. I proudly serve as a member of the Colorado State Accountability Work Group (2025-2026). Selected by state education leaders, I collaborate directly with district leaders, superintendents, and policymakers to evaluate, refine, and strengthen Colorado’s statewide school evaluation frameworks. My mission is to ensure that accountability policies are equitable, transparent, and built to truly support the communities they impact.

Pioneering Systemic Equity

  • Culture Audit Process (CAP): Created and deployed a proprietary operational framework across multi-campus networks to strictly evaluate and audit diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics.
  • IDEAS Advisory Council: Chaired the council responsible for writing the organization’s comprehensive Anti-Racist Statement and aligning network-wide programming with core equity standards.
  • Dreamkeeper Award: Recipient of the 2002 Dreamkeeper Award from Colorado College, honoring an active, systemic commitment to addressing multiculturalism and improving life for historically oppressed peoples.
  • Teacher of the Year: Honored as the 2006 Mile High Teacher of the Year for excellence in instruction, leadership, and community building.

Championing Family Rights: Show and Tell

I serve as the Board President for the Show and Tell Corporation, leading alongside Executive Director Yvette Plummer. The organization (formerly the THRIVE Center, founded in 2006) is dedicated to providing families across the Denver Metro area with vital advocacy, training, and resources regarding IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and parent/child rights. By driving strategic governance, expanding access to the arts, and providing fiscal oversight, I work to ensure that every family has the tools necessary to advocate for their children's futures.

Brokering Municipal Investment

Community roots mean advocating for community resources. Through strategic local stakeholder and advisory board relationship management, I successfully brokered alignment to secure a unanimous City Council vote approving the construction of a new, state-of-the-art UIL-sized athletic facility on campus grounds, creating a lasting asset for local youth.
